Continual win25 timeout issues

Hi,

there appears to be an issue with the win25 server as the following error is
being thrown for all my sites hosted on it:

"Active Server Pages error ‘ASP 0113’

Script timed out

/include/name.asp

The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You
can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property
Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration
tools."

This has happened many times over the last month, with support only resolving it for a day or so.

How do I get this permanently fixed?

Note: I cannot currently raise or update issues within the Cerebus Helpdesk system as the page never finished loading…

looking at win25, I don’t see a high load or anything, so I don’t think it is server side, there could be other factors making this error, especially if it has possibly an old IP reference somewhere.

Do you have a ticket number reference so I can know the domain?

Hi Stephen,

the reference is HNV-20763-336

Cheers,

Just found one issue with a spammer on it, using exploit on someones form mailer :frowning:

Got it killed, will help some without a doubt.

thanks, greatly appreciated

unfortunately the issue is back.

I’ll update the ticket

unfortunately still an issue and no update from support.

Note: the issue is intermittent

We are still checking it and update you on ticket shortly.

This issue has been resolved 12 times in the last month and 3 times today.

The issue returns in 5 mins, or a day or if I’m really lucky a week.

Has anybody else had an issue on win25?

My sites impacted have run flawlessly fo 3 years until now, what has happened to win25?

Note: problem is back, sites broken again…

Nearly 6 hours without sites working properly and still no sign of a fix…

7 hours and still no fix, any update?

There is no issue on win25 for last 30 min and We are still monitoring it.

The server is being monitored closely, we are watching it closely. We can’t provide a step by step of the process, but it’s being checked, and no nothing systemwide

None of he sites load… how can there be no problem?

It has something to do with your access DB, at least on the sv site, I did an Access ‘repair’ after setting up a DSN (for express purpose of doing a quick repair it is a quick and dirty way), and its popping right up now.

same with the one starting with g, over 130KB size reduction after the fix function, and working well.

all of them had a substantial % of fixing to be done, and working well after that on each one.

This is something you can do as well by renaming the db, downloading the DB via FTP, using access to repair, the compact as well, reupload with the proper name. ALWAYS keep a copy do the repair process on a copy itself, so you have a fallback if it has an error.

I’ve been resting some, but getting a lot of calls today, and checked it each time sites are running like supposed to nice and speedy!

Thanks Stephen, greatly appreciated.
Interesting that all three sites failed at once, I’ll make sure to compact them. I actually have an asp script to do it, haven’t done these sites for a while as the DB doesn’t get many updates.

Cheers

Note that with the ODBC driver there I could not issue a compact, I only did a ‘repair’, so still possibly some value in you doing a compact.
