The backups are being done again at it’s still early here. Is there a way to move these times to a little later in the morning. Some of my clients and myself work at this time.
As I mentioned in the thread I started–probably the same time as you–I don’t understand why these backups kill the server. I have contracts with three other HSphere suppliers, all of whom allegedly do backups, and none of them exhibit this problem.
cpmiller, we have a very large HSphere database.
All larger HSphere hosts have these issues…
Also.. this isn’t CP database backup. This is CP database maintenance. A vaccum command is run on the database which cleans/optimises it.. it locks each table when running on it
I’ll publish the times shortly
Hi Yash,
If you could maybe push the time up 1-2 hours, that would help some of us out.
Certainly, we could do that. I’ll discuss this with Tanmaya…
Thanks Yash… ![]()
Um, not to be rude ;), but where are you? As in what time zone? Jodo, serving an international client base, is going to tick someone off no matter what time they run it. I’m in central Canada–Eastern Time.
Im Central Time… It’s 200A.M.
I just talked with Akshay, who is performing the CP server maintanence right now..
He’s estimating it will finish in 30 minutes from now..
Once again, the issue is caused by vaccum, not by backup.. Backup takes place everyday. But backup with vaccum takes place on Sunday morning.. I’ll see if the time can be pushed further..
If you push time to later, you will have problems with european clients, cause 2 AM means 8AM in Europe.
