Couple of New VPS questions

2 questions on my new VPS:

  1. By default once plesk & email is installed 230M of memory is used. Is there anything that is safe to be turned off to reduce that inital memory footprint?

  2. Is there a way to get rid of the certificate error? I had thought I would be able to just buy my on certificate but in googling the issue it sounds like it is not really possible
