Yet again I cannot load most of the CP pages… I guess backup must be running, but can’t it run at lower priority or something??
It is really troubling when the CP stops work, be it for any reason at all.
I’m sitting here refreshing constantly waiting for CP to load properly.
Wheemer, every sunday, for about an hour, a vaccum process is performed to keep the database in shape for the rest of the week. This is the only time the control panel becomes slow.
It is back to normal however now.
Well I do not think that these backups and whatever procedure you run should make the control panel unusable…
So now we must schedule our work around this process and the backups… This is not cool.
Wheemer, when you are optimizing the database (that is what the cp vacuum is and does) it takes the CP down, as it depends on that database, there is simply no way around this is you want the CP to work at all, all the other times. Databases get a dis disorderly and have to be reorganized, just like everything else on computers.
Every hsphere host deals with this, and everyone that has a large SQL database has to stop and organize the db at times, when you have a database that is not measured in megabytes, but in gigabytes, it obviously takes longer.
