CP Server Downtime
Every time the backup executes on the CP server I am unable to login to my control panel. Why is this? Can’t the backup process run on a lower priority?
If the CP access is going to go down, then there should be a redirect to a page stating what’s going on, and that the server should be back up in estimate time.
Does anyone else suffer from this?

The CP backup process lasts for between 10 to 30 minutes, and is performed every 24 to 48 hours.
It is not suppose to slow down the CP to a great extent but yes if a page loads in 2 seconds normally it make take 5 seconds during the backup phase.
However since we have received a few complaints today, we plan to monitor response times and loading more carefully during the next time and see if we can ensure this problem doesn’t happen again

The pages do not load at all during these backups…
Sometimes it hangs on loading the default page and sometime it hangs on login. But if I do manage to get in somehow, it will stall out on basically an random click in there.
Correct, same here, white page hangs once you try to log in and goes no where till these backups are done..

We have a CP monitor at jodopulse that loads the CP and reports back response times to us, every 60 seconds. It doesn’t report a significant response lag. Also, our staff is logged on during backup hours. Slowness exists, but the CP is usable.
However since you are not the only customer that is reporting this, we plan to investigate and hopefully ensure this doesn’t happen again.
