diference between mail alias and mail forward.

I cannot see any main diferences between these.

could some one point it out?

I know that mail forward will store emails in the account.

Mail forwards, can forward emails to remote as well as local mailboxes. Mail aliases are only for local mailboxes.

The difference, mail aliases cannot be remote and are faster than mail forwards for local accounts.
