OK, I am puzzled. I just found out that DSPAM rejected an email from one of my business partners using GMAIL for his email sent to our reseller account on MAIL5.
We never asked to set up DSPAM, and HSPHERE shows our email protection as default. I thought (incorrectly?) that 1.) email would not get DSPAM by default and 2.) default settings on DSPAM would be just to mark it [SPAM].
What are the default settings?

OK – this is getting weirder…
I sent a test from my gmail acct to accts at both mail3 and mail5. Mail3 came trhough immediately. Mail5 took a full hour to get delivered (8:59 vs 9:44)
Is MAIL5 holding stuff right now? Jodopulse shows all normal…
gundu, your client would receive that bounce if their mail server is on spamcop or spamhaus or it is on a residential IP address.
Please PM me the sending email address of that domain and I will tell you exactly why. if you do not want your domain to use the new system, let me know
We are monitoring the logs for loop back issues. Please report more instances via tickets.
I wasn’t able to replicate the issue after we rebuilt a transport table
The loopback issue seems to have been occuring sporadically, for internal emails. Any loopback was bounced back and hence sender notified.
I do request cooperation.
Please note we have done months of testing on this new system. Some issues can only be resolved in live situations. We are monitoring the logs and haven’t seen any loopback since
Yash, My client received bounce message from yahoo mail. I’m sure yahoo mail server is not listed in the spamlist, is it?
Most emails sent to yahoo from jodohost mail server are flagged as spam.
I sent a test email using my isp smtp mail and the mail went straight to inbox, However a test mail sent using your smtp mail server will be flagged as SPAM and go to bulk folder.
Question is : why does yahoo reject your smtp mail server and not my isp’s ?
I’ve sent alot of tickets regarding this issue and so far no resolution has been made from your end and the support team blammed yahoo filtering mail instead.
Tommy, yahoo doesn’t flag our mail servers for spam. They flag certain emails as spam based on their own content analysis. There are many complaints on alot of forums regarding Yahoo SPAM.
As far as our mail servers rejecting email from yahoo, i ran a test from mail5 and its coming in properly. It failed in your case due to a loopback error. We are monitoring such errors and as of now have not seen more cases of it
This is not true. I’ve sent a ticket complaining about this issue later today. So this problem has more than half a day and hasn’t been solved yet.
Could you please give an estimated time for this to be fully working? I’m tired of telling my customers the problem is solved and they answering me an hour later that they still have problems!
I got another complaint from a different customer telling me they are not getting some e-mails just now!
Please give reasonable answers we could pass to our customers!
We are aware of the issue. There is sporadic issue with the transport table that handles email delivery, hence causing occasional loopback bounces.
We are reverting mail5 back to its configuration. Everything will be normal in 5 to 10min. We’ll move back mail5 to dspam once issue is corrected (we are working with developer)
