Email blocked by AOL

My customer is having all email sent to AOL addresses blocked. A sample message they get is:

Connected to 205.188.190.2 but greeting failed.
Remote host said: 554 5.7.1 : (RLY:B1)

I have opened a support ticket: CDQ-80267-230. Anything that can be done to expedite this would be appreciated.

We’ve found and stopped that spammer, a while back, and its delisted with other RBLs now (including SORBS that listed it), aol should follow suit, if not they are way slow.

Thanks for the quick reply, Stephen. Is there anything we can do from our end to push this with AOL?

I see on the support ticket that AOL has been notified. We will now wait for them to cycle out the dynamic block.

We have already requested delist and checked not many emails left the server in mail queue. But as such, they’ll take their own time period for delisting the server IP.

However, we are looking for temporary workaround until they respond as soon as possible.

I am posting a reply to this thread as it may be related but I will also open a ticket as well.

Hotmail is blocking email from 173.0.136.150 The actual error is:

Final-Recipient: RFC822; [email protected]
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0
Diagnostic-Code: SMTP; 550 SC-001 (COL0-MC1-F31) Unfortunately, messages from 173.0.136.150 weren’t sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list. You can also refer your provider to Announcements .

Also possibly related…doing a lookup of 173.0.136.150 at Network Tools: DNS,IP,Email

Shows it on at least 3 blacklists.

Can this be fixed? What are any workarounds that can be used?

We have updated your ticket with other alternate options until hotmail remove block.

This is only webmail which is one of the most highly abused resources, sadly, if you use the mail server via a client it is not blocked.

Thanks for that Stephen…are there any generic type instructions for how to set that up but using the JodoHost specific mail server data?

Thanks!

Using outlook/thunderbird/others with mail.yourdomain.com(IMAP/POP/SMTP all) and full email address for user and set password for the password.

Thanks Stephen!
