Email concerns

Today I had a long term customer contact me regarding not receiving emails. This a corporate customer who I recently moved to my jodo account from my other reseller provider, I was becoming concerned about losing customers with the other provider due to these kind of incidents recurring. The NDR to the sender stated sorry this appears to be spam it was a legitimate email with an important attachment and yes I realise that stating this is like listening to a broken record as its been the subject of numerous posts of late

I can understand why why servers and spam settings need to be the way they are but the reason I came to jodo was because of this type of thing happening with my other provider. Im now finding the recurring nightmare beginning again with JODO.

If theres one thing that really makes customers scream its when emails stop working correctly. I find their website going down on them isnt always the end of the world but email not functioning correctly in their eyes is

I know that theres not much that JODO can do but there must be a better solution as this type of thing damages my reputation with my customers, the buck stops with me and I cant say
“OH sorry thats my providers settings go into your control panel and change this and that and maybe the emails will come through next time”

Its not just the one account that has been having issues with email and spam but fortunately most have them have been minor.

I hope that JODO keep in mind that our reputations are largely tied to the service and reliability that they provide to us.

Just my 2 cents worth

cdog, at best, you can disable anti-spam altogether and use any 3rd party service with your jodo accounts.

We use an open-source anti-spam solution, which has been working very well for the large majority of our clients. It hasn’t been for some clients, and we do recommend you look at the alternatives on the market if its not.

Anti-spam systems are never perfect. Legitimate emails can be marked as spam, and will go to your quarantine unless you configured one.

If an email is being bounced back, it is because it is on a RBL list or it doesn’t have rDNS configured. But RBL/rDNS checks are something most email providers perform.

Installing an expensive commercial antispam service would force us to increase prices, something we do not want to do

Thanks Yash
I wasnt expecting any reply for all of the reasons you have already stated. I realise and appreciate jodos position. My last provider had major email issues and this is why I moved a great many clients to jodo. I was a bit frustrated as this is exactly how the issues on the last provider started, a trickle became a flood and thought of going through it all again isnt a pleasant one.
