folder size

hey there.

i have a site that seem (mysteriously) to be just over its quota, so i’d like to check the size of each folder - without having to go into each one and check manually - is there a way to somehow get the folder size automatically - either via the CP, an application, or possibly a script?

WebShell can display the size of a directory with all it’s subdirectories.

I’d take a lok at either logs or awstats folder. They can both grow FAST.

Thanks Stephen. the question is - what van be done about the large files?
unfortunately, each stat system gives info that other one doesnt, so its kind of hard to give one up…

I think the idea here is not to give up one, but rather to reset both often enough that the size of the data file doesn’t become a problem. Unfortunately, it’s a trade off of storing stats and managing disks space.

The obvious way:

  1. Turn off the stats in the CP
  2. Use the File Manager to delete the AWStats and webalizer directories
  3. Turn on the stats in the CP

yea, pretty easy.
and with the CP, it will only take a morning to do too!
