Folders dont delete. Help?

Hi,

we have a dedicated server on Windows, and there are 2 folders in there which refuse to be deleted.
says they have stuff inside, but we cant delete those either.

Please, any suggestions? I spoke to Neeraj on Live Support, but he had no idea about the issue or how to go about solving it

Folders related to FCK Editor

Anyone, any suggestions please??

is W2k or W2K3… have you check the folder permissins on that folder for those files, also the folder above as they have settings for sub directories. also check if the user account (windows access accounts) have access to delete files nd folders… i assume you have tried or trying in RDT (remote desktop) mode… ive seen this on a network we manage

Win 2000

It is not taking the folders permissions via FTP.
I will try the folder above, as you suggested.

Let you know

it sounds like they are still in use.

I would go to www.sysinternals.com and process tools, download the tool called handle

unzip it go to command prompt and type:
handle filename.gif/htm/js/whatever

it will process all the file locks on the server and return the one with the file locked, then you can know what to do from there.
Sometimes this happens to access dbs and we have to quickly stop iis, rename/delete and start iis back, but we only do this during non peak hours.

Nothing works. It keeps saying that the folder is not empty… bla bla … afff…
I have been suggested to run a CHKDISK, as file system corruption could be the issue… and Im not so sure of that.. but… running out of options.
Any other suggestions?

I am pretty sure it is a file lock

Enable view hidden files in folder options as well.

In the end, it was hidden files, very hidden, if underdog wants to tell more I will allow, but not going to say myself
