Forum & Content Management app

A client wants a content management app and forum. Content management is pretty simple - upload PDFs for members to download, and there are lots of forum packages available. But I’m wondering if anyone knows of/has used any tool that combines both? I’ve looked at DotNetNuke and it seems like way overkill for this - as well as the fact that forums is just an add-on. Maybe what I need is a forum software with lightweight document management ability. Anyone know of anything like this?

looks really nice and clean, that is one reason I like e107, the base templates are easy to edit and keep clean without getting too sloppy!
