I am aware that many people do not like or use FrontPage Extensions for various reasons (in all honesty I am not crazy about them either)
That being said there is still a great demand out there by hosting clients to have them available.
My question is this…what are Jodos intentions going forward with regards to having FrontPage Extensions available for Windows servers? How long does Jodo plan on keeping them available to use.
I am considering offering some different plans for certain FrontPage and Expression users which will include the extensions..but don’t want to go down that path if they will not be available any time soon.
Thanks!
We won’t be removing them but if MS makes them unavailable(I am not aware that they work on 2008?) we won’t be able to support them. We will make a best effort to provide them whenever possible.
Thanks Stephen..that’s good to know!
Actually Microsoft along with Ready-to-run Software released a new version for Windows Server 2008 and IIS 7:
Downloads : The Official Microsoft IIS Site
interesting, I had not seen that will check it out before committing to using it but will certainly consider it as installed but officially unsupported(meaning if it doesn’t work we won’t be spending a lot of time debugging it, but if it works one is free and welcome to use it)
