Sounds good Yash. Had a quick scout of the net for info on the miami exchange. It doesnt look anywhere near as good as nap does, but then i do understand your position on costings. Is MiaX up to standard with regards hurricanes and the like? As last year the nap did an excellent job when we were on backup generators for a while.
Also, with all the new services, exchange hosting etc, will these be intergrated into current reseller plans, or will there be seperate add-ons, or additional cost or?? I know you may not have finalised pricing yet, but any indications would be nice.
It is built to resist class-5 hurricanes, to the same specifications as the NAP. It is within the same class as the NAP, not sure what gave you the impression it wasn’t.
As mentioned, we are starting a second cluster.
The current cluster (which everyone is on right now) will be updated once we setup the new cluster. The new cluster is being started for two reasons:
So that the current cluster’s size doesn’t exceed limits which would make the control panel perpetually slow
So the new cluster can act as a test-bed for upgrades (given its much smaller size) before we perform the same upgrade on the larger cluster.
What that means is that we will be running hsphere 2.5 and selling new accounts on that cluster towards the 3rd week of feb. Existing resellers won’t immediately have access to those features, but will have so within a short time frame (that we will announce once the new cluster is up).

This new datacenter is an amazing facility. I was fortunate enough to get a tour from Stephen when I visited the area a few weeks ago. It’s probably on some of the highest ground in Miami, with huge backup gens and plenty of fuel on hand. The AC systems and ducting is awesome, and very flexible to allow direct airflow across the servers. Stephen was building the rack system while I was there, and it will be top-notch! I also met one of the executives from the company that owns and manages the center. The same company also owns and maintains the huge datacenter in Los Angeles that practically every tellecommunications compnay in the world uses (can’t remember the name of the facility!). But these people know their stuff, and they are committed to providing the best datacenter possible. It’s a very positive step for Jodohost and those of us relying on them for quality servers and maximum uptime.
We hope to join the any2 network within the next year, they will have the Miami and LA locations linked via private fiber, and it will be almost as good as being there in the west
its a private network that allows ISPs and hosts in their datacenters to interconnect with each other and exchange data. For example.. if a data packet from one of our servers needs to go to an ISP that is hosted at their california datacenter, it would be routed via any2 instead of the public network.. Same goes vice versa
