Has something Changed with Mail Fowarding..

Has something change with mail forwarding??

I have a client saying, they have mail forwarded from another host,to our mail servers, and no E-mails are being received if they are a fowarded status.

Sending regular E-mails work and are received.

Nothing has changed with mail forwarding, but I would highly recommend against using it

THey are using the mail forwarding at thier other host, and the forward address is to us, so didn’t know if maybe fowards were getting blocked incoming.

ohhh, so the forwards are to us, still we have not changed anything for this to happen, check with their other host or ISP

No they checked, nothing wrong with their other host either, I saw the support tickets from their other host, they think its us.

The forwards go to other addresses (netzero, hotmail) but when comes to us it fails. This is mail5. When she sends regular mail to mail 5 it works.

How many forwards are coming in, what happens if she tries emailing “from” that address that is forwarding to a real mailbox on mail5? Does it give the “your user is listed in badmailfrom”?

No errors, she just said they are not being received on our end.

She just told me one of the forwarded E-mails from her other host, just arrived on our end 7 hours later.. 8)

Nothing has changed from our end. All queues are normal so there is absolutely no reason for a delay.
You might want to have the client contact their host and see if its having issues connecting to our mail server or if its staying in their queue for too long

Our mail system doesn’t know the difference between a forward or any normal email hitting it

Yea, thats what i thought. Don’t matter forward or regular E-mail is seen as the same coming elsewhere.

I told her.

Her other hosts are blaming us, … bastards. I know this issue is not us, but for them to try to escape and blame another host WHATEVER…

Just to show how stupid they are, they did a mail forward to a gmail mailbox. Forwards on thier end works, just not when sent to our end, and she told them this yesterday. THey also use H-sphere so they should no incoming from Forwards or regualar emails the system sees as the same.

NO wonder some hosts don’t succeed.

WebD, when they send a normal email to our servers, it works? But a forward doesn’t?

Can you give some more details?

My client is using another host, and at this other host her domain there is setup to Forward a E-mail address to a E-mails address to us on mail5.

All regualar E-mails coming from this other hosts are received to us on mail5 fine. The forward address setup at her other host is delayed when sending to us on mail5. She said delayed 7 hours then they start coming in to us slowly.

So its only the forward address she has setup there that is delayed coming to us.
