Horde webmail

I realize there are some language and cultural differences at play with Ticket #SUV-52593-680, but we really need to get a straight answer. What is the ETA for the ongoing Horde webmail issue to be resolved? My business partner has tried to get an answer multiple times using quite a bit of patience. Now I realize this data center move had been extremely stressful for everyone, and we’ve tried to put out fires with our customers without putting any more stress on JH’s staff. And for the most part, you guys are doing a really great job. I know how tough a DC move is (been there myself about a year ago and it took 6 months to get everything moved)..

That being said, we need to have a straight answer on the ETA. We already know it’s down, we know there are alternatives available. That doesn’t solve the problem of users with stored folders and email on their horde account. We need to be able to tell them what is happening, and when things will be fixed. That is what customer service is, keeping users informed and up to date with time frames so they can adjust.

Please help us to help our customers! It would be greatly appreciated..

Thank you,
-Ben

Totally agree with you.

We have several customers with their Agenda and Calendar in Horde who are asking or demanding for their information and they are right!!

As you do, I ask the same in ticket BLQ-49193-632 and I just receive:

Sorry but can’t say anything at this moment.

We can’t give that answer to our customers!! Thank’s JH’s Staff but we need to have a straight answer on the ETA as kujo2123 said.

Regards,
Andres

Horde is not available at the moment due to some compatibility issues.

However, we are already working on it and hopefully it should be available within next 48 - 72 hours.

I have checked on this best I can on the road.

Basically horde did not take well to the version upgrade on php.
We are working on making a work around but it is taking more time than expected.

Tell us how to switch to squirrel…
Can you get the horde folders, calendars, and address books into squirrel?

A lot of us really need this fixed by open of business tomorrow…

php version upgrade during a DC migration… not nice…

The old stuff isn’t really available on the new now, different revisions of linux etc and the old isn’t nearly as stable.

Squirell doesn’t even have all those options, honestly your client would be best to move to a outlook/thunderbird/sunbird based setup if they rely on calendars.
I am a bit shocked (just from personal level) so many use webmail that cant sync with a phone or any other function for this. I’ve been syncing my phones since before the ‘smart phone’ days for reminders and notices, and webmail over the years simply hasn’t offered that (not taking into account newer android phones with google calendar services)

Most people do not know how to set up an email address in outlook. And they don’t know how to set up their phones either. That’s why so many use it. It’s not really their preference. It’s necessity created out of their ignorance. If you asked them which version was more stable, they would tell you what they see. The old works the new doesn’t.

So from our perspective, the new will be an improvement, from theirs, the new needs improvement.

Regardless, these are real people with real businesses, who don’t know how to use technology efficiently. That describes my end user. The people who buy what we’re selling.

So how do I switch to squirrel? I need a solution - even if it is temporary - for a real estate company and a construction company - when their doors open tommorow.

Roundcube would be a better switch as both will be email only, like I said Squirrel doesn’t even do the calendars etc.

Just login…

I switched two clients to squirrel temporarily. But they have files and folders in horde they will be asking for. Please tell us upfront if you think Horde will not be compatible any longer.

Is there a way to get just the email files and folders imported into squirrel?

Will they lose all of their files now that I switched it?

I have an alternative option available I am going to present to the linux team, since I am here I have the old webmail hardware, we don’t want to stay on it long term but for a short term patchover I am going to offer starting it up here with all the old versions.

no, HORDE will be back, but it will likely need to be processed as an upgrade on the old server so we can import a NEW version across.

Now I just have to find and unpack the old hardware…that maybe easier said than done as I let my staff go home for a ‘weekend’ on the week day..

We don’t have it added to the quick list just yet as we want some input on working or not for others.

go to mail.yourclientdomain.com/horde

it should forward to the right place and work now, can you give a go at it?

Nevermind, it is even on the short list now, CACHE on my side.

Hi Stephen, first I want to say Thanks for your effor in this matter. Second, I try with an account on mail8 but when I click on Calendar just send me a white screen is that ok?

Regards,
Andres

:frowning: not really that is why we wanted people to give it a check, looks like the calendar is still crashing

Notes, Tasks, Address books, at least are working on my side here, Calendar did if I opened a day, but now is just white even on that.

So, what’s the status for Calendar feature in Horde? Any Update?

Regards,
Andres

thanks for bump, I haven’t gotten an update myself, (and I am not working on this myself, I wouldn’t get as far as it is), I will ask for one today.

Hello again, just to know if there any update about calendar at horde?

Best Regards,
Andres
