Yes, running much better now. Thanks. ![]()

I resolved that, and thank you much for the PM, I found a site in the pool you were in that was causing the problem and stopped it, it was far worse than the other domains I had found earlier, the others I jsut put some restrictions on, this I had to fully stop!

Just a suggestion…
Perhaps JH should consider a server or two that strictly allows only vetted sites with a clean track record. I mean, I don’t run any dodgy scripts on my sites. I don’t do mass-mailings. I don’t have any VPS, or run my own applications, or experiment with untested ASP.net stuff. All of my customers are known to me, and few of them even have FTP access. None of my customers are gamers looking for a faster server, or even run popular forums. Certainly, none of them are professional spammers. None of my customers come anywhere near to using their percentage of the bandwidth I have available in my reseller plan. Most of my customers are small business people or non-profit organizations with low-volume sites, but all of them want reliability above all else.
I’d be quite happy for JH staff to go through and check all of my sites and move them to a server where NOBODY is allowed the freedom to screw it up. Then, I’d be quite happy if resource hogs on that server weren’t just ‘allocated their own pool’ or given some restrictions if they cause problems, but kicked the hell off right away!
Some JH resellers are making a few dollars a month each on lots of anonymous customers. Some, like myself, provide hosting as a service to a few customers that they provide other services for. I make little from hosting itself, but the fact that I can provide hosting makes my services much more attractive and valuable. I can’t help feeling that most of the problems I experience in hosting come from the anonymous customers who pay little and will be gone tomorrow if they can save a dollar a month somewhere else.
Almost all of the problems my sites have had in the past year seem to have been down to abuse from other unknown users who have no consideration for the fact that they’re on a shared server with hundreds of other websites who don’t abuse the facility.
Seriously, I can do without them. So can you. There’s a place for open sign-ups, but as more of JH’s customers become established then there should also be a place to bed down and establish a long-term base for the future. Sharing a server with every hacker, script-kiddie, spammer, gamer, and budding porno king that comes along may not be the best place to do it.
I can’t yet afford my own dedicated server, probably never will, but I would sure consider paying a little to have a site vetted, not to have to deal with the constant abuses that seem to plague shared servers.

Bro,
Now that sounds a very good idea! I reckon though it would be tricky for Jodo to impliment - but a good idea all the same.
That would be nice… we could call it “Jodohost VIP Plan” ![]()
Cool name! Can you imagine the fuss and sulking that would go on if it happened! The VIPs would be all nice and smug, the non-VIPs would be all tense and emotional that they were not amongst the chosen elite ![]()
NAH… people wouldn’t even be told about the plan unless they qualify for it…
Good job I’m not paranoid - supposing there already is a VIP scheme, and we just havn’t been invited to join!
It would mean they are all against me - an my shrink said they wern’t 8o
“Just because you’re paranoid… doesn’t mean that they aren’t after you!” … LOL
Hey now, we dont have anything like that, the closest we have to that is the SD plan, but it is so hard to implement that we have not moved it to resellers yet, and I don’t know if we will be able to, to be honest.
