is there a winvps reseller plan?

is there a reseller plan that includes the ability to resell winvps?

i can’t seem to find anything that says yes

sounds like a sellable item

this is the banner ad on the forums, and i believe there is no vps for resellers:

H-Sphere Reseller Hosting - $17.50
Sell Windows, Linux and VPS Hosting. Fully Brandable, unlimited sites, optional 24/7 Anonymous end-user support, 99.9% up-time.

Not yet, but in the near future.
We aren’t able to meet our own demand at this point, so it doesn’t make sense to take on more clients than we can handle.

But we are working to put up enough extra capacity to allow resellers to sell winvps

jetx86,

This was back in the virutozzo days, on the hpyer-v side it isn’t so possible to do a reseller plan really.

We can work some deals on it now for dedicated server with run your own hyper-v clients type operation however. All of the dedicated servers are capable of running virtual machines of virtuozzo style(not recommended), Parallels Cloud server (it does hardware VM and containers), and Hyper-V

If it is something of interest to you we can certainly talk about it and the pricing (if you need Windows VPS machines we’ll need to discuss how it is licensed and we’ll need access to install keys under the way it works we can’t provide you with the keys so they don’t get out of license compliance)

For example the i7 4770 with 32GB RAM:
It comes with 1TB drives, run in RAID1.

It comes to $163.00/month + $21 for Windows Standard, with windows standard you can run 2 VM without added charges. $184/month

So you could take this one machine and split it up into 2 large VM of 14GB RAM each and 400GB HD with 4 cores allocated to each. cost would ‘be’ $92/month each and you could easily sell such for $109-150 depending on what features you added to it. We’d even be willing to provide you 2 Plesk 10 domain license for this usage replacing the 1 30 domain. This can be a perfect solution for high end bandwidth or cpu/ram usage customers that need dedicated resources on a solid platform.

yeh back when i asked that, the reseller came with a linux vps and i was curious. way beyond my need atm though.

i did ask live chat about lightswitch yesterday, they told me ‘only winvps’. so i was browsing around…

It actually seems like lightswitch should work on most of the servers and soon all of them, as most servers have .net 4 and the silverlight client is of course client side. You could not do the lightswich for sharepoint as we don’t offer sharepoint services but the other apps seem to just need .net 4+ and silverlight to work.

i shyed away from the sharepoint server price myself, can’t say i blame you. no just the html5 client and the serverside stuff is all i’m interested in. there are steps you have to do to prepare the server… How to: Configure a Server to Host LightSwitch-Based Applications | Microsoft Learn

there’s one for with sql(express i ‘believe’) and one for not.

support for this would be nice, i wouldn’t have to host it on a dsl line or purchase azure

apparently there one each for each version of visual studio too… 2011 2012 2013.

i installed the web pi package 'LightSwitch in Visual Studio 2013 - Server Configuration without local SQL" on 2k8r1seems it installed the ‘with’ package as well, but i don’t see any sql on this box as a result.

I will investigate further I don’t mind installing some libraries etc just like we do for MVC an such, but we don’t do the local SQL as you know.
From what I see here it s basically a profile to make sure you have asp.net, mvc, nd the right libraries installed, not an actual installer for the lightswitch. I will probably take a snapshot of a server an try it if it is that case will merge it up and we’ll go with it. The note saying SQL is needed but not locally is fine is all accurate we’ll be in good shape.

works for me. yeah i have a dataset i’m trying to work with already on mssql5. np.
