Why is it that when I now look at the Whois records for my website on www.whois.sc it shows the server as coming from New Delhi, India? Go ahead, try typing in your website that’s hosted on JodoHost by going to www.whois.sc/your-website.com .
I noticed this just as recent as a little over a week ago, just by randomly checking the Whois for my site. It had previously listed the servers as being in Miami, Florida where JodoHost still claims they’re located.

Right now, Whois.sc lists the IP as coming from a datacenter by the name of Apyl Softwares & Systems Ltd whose address ( APYL - Infrastructure & Connectivity Engineering ) is: 59/1, 1st Floor, Kalkaji Extn, New Delhi - 110019(India).
This wouldn’t bother me that much if JodoHost decided to host their sites out of India, though I can’t speak for all the other clients, but this could definatly cause some speed lags with some of the more high-demand, U.S.-based sites. I just can’t see why they would move their servers across the country without telling anyone or having any sort of formal press release.
Something is very weird about it, just doing a tracert shows it is in Miami, FL, NOT india
The main reason for it is that the company that makes the IP location databases ip2location.com has it wrong, I have already reported to them, but they do not reply.
I just lost a client today because of this same situation. Can you guys please check again and see if you can get this corrected, some of the IP’s still show India. They thought I was laying to them about servers being in Flordia but IP showed India.
This is being corrected. Also, if you give the tracert of the IP to your customer that will fix the situation. Tracert of IP will land in The Nap of Americas Data Center in Miami.

I have ran into the same thing… customer was using a tool for network diagnostics and it showed India as the location… he was not happy at all. Hopefully this will be resolved shortly.
We need you to give us the IP that was looked up, it at all possible. As we need to check on that netblock.
However, this is the stupidest thing I have ever seen with geo location services.
I explained it some on another forum but basically it goes like this.
Say a company based in California has servers in Chicago, does a geo ip service show the ip to be in california when it is really in chicago? If so, what is the purpose for geo ip, it is fatally flawed!!
Yes, I understand and it would not matter to me what the locations say, if I wasn’t a reseller. I know where the servers are.
I sent you the IP’s. Their is actually alot of different Ip’s showing the wrong information. I checked alot of my clients domains on different severs some say Flordia but alot are also wrong.

Yes, it could be multiple IPs, as the location would show per netblock, so there could be some of our smaller netblocks showing 30-254 IPs as in “india”, most of the larger ones have already been fixed, but the smaller ones take more time, as anything less than a /24 is from our datacenter suppliers and has to be fixed on their servers too.
We have long ago submitted to ARIN the changes and they do NOT list india in the address at all, the databases are now just lagging way behind the arin whois.
Yeppers, I notice that last night. I been watching it also. It says Jd Nextgen for some of my names, which works out great because it kind of goes with my Design company Name which is actually the main name of my company
Some names also say located in Willimington Delware, works for me, but wanted to let you know in case this is not normal.
