Live Chat...

You might want to tell you guys over at live chat, to stop blaming scripts when there is a problem.

Ranjan was no help to me. I explain to him i had a problem with oscommerce on mysql6 with the install and needed this done in 2 hours with my client and need help. He kept blaming the software and to go to Oscommerce site to get help, he is not a programmer. I couldn’t get pass page 2 on the install.

I took that script and installed it on another windows server using mysql3 server and it worked fine. I have never had a problem with Oscommerce, and maybe he should of taken the time to see what the issue was. Now I will have a unhappy client in less then a hour.

I go back to live chat for over a hour no one responed back to me. WAS HE INGONORING ME??? Im really getting to wonder. I left and came back 6 times and waited over 20min each time. I was going back to tell him I had the script workign on another server so he knew it was not the script. This is uncalled for.

The only time I get something done correctly lately is when Tanmaya or Stephen does something for me.

I am really thinking of moving to another company, this is to many problems the last couple months. You know how much money I have lost??? X( X( X(

Now how do i get oscommerce installed on mysql6???

WebD,

It is best to submit a ticket sometimes for such issues, livechat is very operator intensive, in fact they do not have speakers on their PCs at the moment and sometimes if in a server working it covers their screen and they do not know a chat is waiting.

Submit a ticket with as many details as you can.

Tanmaya to the rescue again. It was php5 was the issue on win23. I knew it wasn’t the script.

Please tell your techs, don’t always blame the data itself in a script could be something else. Maybe ask Tanmaya if they don’t know instead of sending us to Oscommerce site.

Ranjan is a very capable tech, but not all techs can correctly diagnose a problem at the first go.

Really, with installation related issues.. it is always best to open a ticket unless its urgent. L3 techs are not always available on live chat.

I’m sure, an installation issue like this which takes an hour or two to get done at jodohost may take a day or two at another host.

No one ignores clients on live chat. It can be very busy at times, especially since there are tons of clients always trying to use chat for the smallest of things. We are considering to implement new rules/guidelines where it is used in urgent or complex situations

My unrelated 2 cents…

Techs having no speakers is no justification for not seeing incoming chat conversations… they should check that regularly if they are logged in…

KCWebMonkey,

Yes they do, but sometimes you can lose track of time when you are working on an issue, I can’t tell you the number of times I have thought I worked on something 2-3 min and look down its been 15 or 20, thinks like this happen sometimes.
