mail1 ?

acting up… webmail does not work..

looking ok now..

webmail was causing a high load. I believe one of the Unix admins restarted apache on it to resolve that. Mail1 itself it working quite well and I have sent over 15 emails in the last 15 minutes.

ok

webmail flunked for 5m inutes i guess it was during the restart.

thanks stephen..

am sorry stephen, but from where i am, Mail1 seems to be dead.
Deepak even confirmed that Mail1 was having problems

all of my contact forms are failing, i either get a message saying it cant connect to server, or some strange error which doesnt give a discription (asp)

and i think JodoPulse speaks for its self.

Mail 1 SMTP: OK 5014 ms
Mail 3 SMTP: OK 122 ms

dont be fooled by Mail1’s “ok” status, it seems to go red frequently and start beeping.

am not sure if this is related to Mail1’s current problems but my mail scripts seem to fail if the sender and receiver are NOT the same as the domain its self, even domains on the same server fail to work, though if you enter your email address as without the @domain.com part it will work. this is on Win5 and Win6 with the “CDOSYS” mail component

which is leaving my contact forms useless. has jodohost changed any email policies? on the mail servers?

this is all coursing huge problems for ALL of my websites hosted on jodohost.

No policy change here. I’m looking at this now.

I am using mail1(jodohost. com mail server) and have been sending and receiving replies of sent mails in mere minutes or seconds.

I did notice a few timeouts (4-5) in continuous testing, but they werent often, in 2 hours. Else it was working fine all time. Just no delay anywhere in any case at all.
Erik, the websrvice was restarted, so was the IMAP service when you noticed. Som threads were hung.

i dont normally make posts like this, and i wish i didnt have to but..

..i think maybe theres something am missing.

my contact forms were failing on every site and i got a varity of error messages.

i use CDOSYS component in ASP, and my messages failed to send, i got an error.
as i said before, the emails ONLY got through ok when the sender and receivers domains matched the domain name of my site, or if i didnt enter a @domain at all (eg “helloworld”, nothing else)

then after a while i started to receive emails saying “cannot connect to server”, so i looked at jodopulse and it was clear there was something wrong, with the times like in my post above, and that was when it wasnt a red bar and a beeping sound. saying cannot connect to server either.

i opened a ticket after waited quite alot time on live help and the reply was 4hours later, and all i get is “all is fine, please check again”

these are my biggest critisisum of jodohost. ever since i joined (quite a while back now) ive rarely needed support but when ive been forced to use it, eg a servers been down for like 4 hours, the reply is late, and by the time you reply the problems fixed and your reply is like “everything is fine here, please check”, and in some cases ive be made to feel as if ive been making the problem up for attention or something.

when i first joined jodo, the thing i liked best was their openness and honesty, but that seems to be slowly slipping away with the groth of the company.

the problems with my mail scripts might not be to do with Mail1s problems yesterday, but you cant keep denying a problem excisted, am not sure about outlook, but via the web, mail1 wasnt working. and jodo pulse was giving off rather high readings, which you all seem to deny, or ignore.

something must of changed on the mail servers lately, as CDOSYS doesnt work anymore, is worked fine ever since you added emails must be authentication policy, let in the last couple of days all my forms have failed to work.

it seems CDONTS works fine, so it looks like i’ll have to go through ALL of my sites and convert to that.
oh lucky me.

Scotty, nothing is slipping away with the growth. We are doing planned growth and inducting fresh talent in the company to sustain our growth.

Nothing is changed the way JodoHost works. If we make mistakes, we do not hide. We accept them and learn from it.

At this forums customers can share information and issues. This help us find common problems. If a server is down for 4 hrs, there will be lots of customers complaining at this forums. We monitoring important services to alert us for any issues. If you see some delay somewhere in our system, we already know of it and are working on it.

We are using lots of new tools and investing heavily to make our services more stable like never before.

Tanmaya will look into this further and reply when he comes in night shift.

Scotty, you seem to be mixing two unrelated issues. You are blaming the fact cdosys is not working on some mail server issue and to us its clear that there is no such issue. Nothing has changed.

Please work on this via ticket with support. We have no other complaints of failing mailing scripts from mail1

well, i’m having an issue as well… (ticket #DIL-70742-365)

i use candypress shopping cart on a site which uses persits aspemail component to send emails.

now i’m getting this error when the cart tries to send emails:

Persits.MailSender.4 error ‘800a0006’

553 sorry, that domain isn’t allowed to be relayed thru this MTA (#5.7.1)

this error just started happening in the past day or so because no one contacted me before yesterday about this.

I know this is off topic for this thread, but i really Like that Candypress Shopping cart looks very well programmed and layed out. Thanks for sharing the brand.

yeah i like the cart too… i’ve never came across a project i couldn’t use it to provide the solution.

now i gotta figure out why AspEmail crapped out on my on Win2…

Manish from live support swears that nothing was changed on Win2 recently.

he told me to add smtp authentication. i tried that. then the error changed to:

Persits.MailSender.4 error ‘800a000e’

AspEmail’s premium features have expired. To continue using them, please visit www.aspemail.com to purchase a registration key.

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh…

We have not and do not support the premium aspemail, if it was working on win2 with all features, it was some programming mistake by persists, as it has been WELL past 30 days since installation. You can use localhost as the SMTP server with aspemail, but not using an external mailserver with SMTP Auth.

well the candypress shopping cart’s code for using AspEmail quit working about 2 days ago, and when i added smtp authentication it started throwing the error about premium being expired…

i ended up changing the cart to using jmail and added smtp authentication and now it works again.

i don’t know what was changed but it would seem quite odd that the code hasn’t changed in a year, but all of the sudden aspemail craps out on me.

also… i just found out that SMTP Authentication is a premium feature of AspEmail ( http://www.aspemail.com/premiumfeatures.html ), which explains why i was getting that error.

Manish said that maybe i was getting away without SMTP authentication before because it was using jodo’s “service IP” before…

i’m still not clear on what a service IP is and what might have changed recently on Win2 in regards to that…

I answered the premium features question just a bit ago, read up two posts

ahh… so i can use ‘localhost’? that’s weird because about 6 months ago or so something changed on the server and i was told to not use ‘localhost’ and to change to mail.mydomain.com as the mailserver…
