Make Better Forum Announcements!

Please make sure any announcements you make on the forum, are clear and detailed.
Please make sure you post information that any non IT-savvy person can understand.

Please make sure you post:

  1. Who the outage affects. Post the server names. Do not post Unix1, Unix8, etc. Post the exact logical server name (i.e. Web8, etc) so the client knows who it affects. Also, always say what this does not affect. If it affecting a web server, say DB and Mail services remain unaffected.
  2. What is causing the outage, in very simple to understand terms
  3. How long the outage will take to resolve
  4. Always apologize for the issue. Say “We apologize for the issue, and would like to thank our customers for their cooperation”
