Many of my client’s sites are down…the common thread is sites on a linux server with an htaccess file. Other sites on the same servers are running as long as they don’t have an htaccess file. I can rename the htaccess file and the sites become accessible.

I’m getting 500 errors for these sites. I get the same for the resellerdesk site so I can’t submit a ticket. I know this is upgrade related. But, can someone please look into this? Here are some affected sites:

www.selene-ny.org
www.fairportbaptistchurch.org
www.wendycannon.com
www.windworks4longisland.org
www.faustsusakarate.com

They’re not all necessarily on the same server but at the moment I can’t log onto my control panel to check to be sure.

The error I’m seeing is:

Error 500: Internal Server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

The problem is on the server side, not with your browser or the address. Most probably, a certain service (e.g., Tomcat engine) is down. Please contact your webmaster.

I’ve corrected this, please check it now.

I just fixed it for web9 and applying same on all servers. please wait for another 15 - 30 mins if you are getting same error.

This issue has been fixed up to web6 till now. working on rest servers.

We are looking into the issue. It relates to a PHP4 packaging issue it appears.

Most was packaging issue as expected. One of your site wasn’t working strangely due to zend issue. Please reply back the ticket with details I’ve asked for.

all my wp sites are using the same version of wp 2.2.3. but why not all affected?

Mine are back up as well.

Not sure as we worked on fixing first instead of looking for all possible causes.
Even if all were same WP version, some extra module or .htaccess configuration may have caused the difference.

All my windows sites are currnetly down - “Service Unavailable”

schooner, only an app pool of yours is down on win15. We posted about it on the status.
the upgrade process is very intensive and so are your sites, both running at the same itme kills win15, we had th option of disabling your pool with its handful of sites so win15 can finish or basically destroying the entire upgrade with a botched security schema 1/2 done and 1/2 not done.

I wish we had been notified about this directly that it was only our pool.
Is there anyway we can at least get one of our sites live ASAP?

site is up, we expected a total server outage of 3 hours during this update, we have been able to keep outages of most sites to well less than 30 minutes, only a few experiencing some password prompts if they had very large sites that too more than 10 minutes to set permissions on the files.

We will be getting your pool up as soon as the upgrade is done. We have tried starting it a few times with no success between the post time and now.
