When a customer signs up for Micosoft Exchange, do they need any software on their end to work with it or do they just login to there account via your servers and everything is there?
Not sure how this works, being im new to it and got a customer that is going to order it.
They can use the OWA(outlook web access) by default, and we are legally allowed to send them a Outlook CD so long as they are a client they are legally allowed to use it, we don’t have the CD file on our servers now as it has never been asked for(many people have it and don’t use it), but we can do it if needed
So OWA(outlook web access) is like outlook but resides on your servers?
Shes with another company and she says when she logs in @ there website, a outlook opens but outlook isn’t installed on her PC, is this the samething as OWA?
I always thought outlook had to be ran off of PC then pointed to either mail server or exchange. 8)
Sort of related to this thread: Is the cluster1 upgrade completely done? And all that’s left is adding exchange to cluster1 at some point?
Also, the pricing of the exchange services is a bit confusing. It says all prices are the same, but the sizes are different. So how exactly would we create a plan for customers? I know a lot of places are offering exchange with 1GB of space, but I’m just not sure how that fits with your pricing model for resellers like myself? I know we can get mark-up to charge something like $15-25/account/mo, but need to know what pricing and space levels to put it at if we choose to offer it on these services.
there is no exchange yet on cluster1, I would not expect it until year end/early next year to be honest, the sales on cluster2 exchange have been abysmal but we are hoping to get exchange 2007 support in hsphere 3.2
Space, it does NOT count against your summary quota, the exchange quota is different than other quota, and the $9.99/month is simply to cover the software license costs and no more, the exchange space is included in the plan and can be divded up accordingly, or all to one user if you want it this way.
Ok, I’m still a bit confused on how I would be able to resell. I can create a new account on cluster2, if I get the sales. That isn’t an issue. But what I’m curious on, is how do I setup space for my customers? I essentially would want to offer 1-2GB of mailbox space per mailbox. How would that count or where does that go against? Is it against my reseller (read summary disk quota) space? Or is there no limit?
Basically, I just need to know how I can set it up to be able to sell it. What the costs to me would be so I know how/what to charge my customers.
Im going to be needing to setup 7 mailboxes on exchange, what do i need to do to get the ball rolling? The hosting account is already setup. All 7 boxes will be the same account.
That’s what I don’t understand. Is that total mail space per mailbox? How do I know what it’s counted against? I’m so confused I’m sorry to be confused on this, just need to know what to set up In order for me to set this up now, do I essentially need to create another reseller account (minimum of $17.50) or can I create an exchange only reseller account? Basically, I need to know how this will stack up to using groupSpark’s exchange hosting, as I would save a few bucks a month, I believe, to get the 1GB space per mailbox, not to mention keeping everything with JH.
Can this be changed to my company name like the other control panel?
cl2-exch1.g********.com
cl2-exch1.mycompanyname>>>>>>> That is on the mailboxes page in exchange hosting panel!
Im so confused, been talking to Kawal for a hour.
I thought any space you create can be spread over all mailboxes.
I gave them 250mb of space to use for 7 mailboxes, now i learn each mailbox address has to be at least 250mb. On the reseller page doesn’t it say a given amount can be spread though out all mailboxes.
no that is not the way it works, the exchange provisioning is a bit different than the others and it is why we gave such a big exchange quota in the first place
Sheesh! I quoted them 250mb of space for all mailboxes i dont know what im going to do now! and they already paid me for 7 mailboxes at 250mb each and 250mb each on private.
