moodle on windows?

has anyone setup a moddle installation on a windows server before?

Not sure if this of any help, but I had moodle installed on a windows server here at jodo back in 2009 or 2010. Not sure about the dates. What I remember is that the mySQL version didn’t match so I had to ask support to create a database on a new mySQL server that had the correct version (most likely it was required 5.X and most of the servers were 4.X). I tested it for 3-4 months and gave up to that project. Except for that database isue, the rest of the install run OK and had no errors while I tested.

MySQL should be synced up and non issue now as we upgraded the MySQl in prep for migrations.

I used moodle as well for a while (maybe 1 or 2 years ago?) and didn’t have any issues with it on a jodohost shared windows server. The client that used it ended up not needing it later.

i see there is an option to use it with MS-SQL too.
Do you think that its a better idea than mySQL?

nope, php+mssql sucks.

php+mysql works way better.
