I don’t know if I’m just being dumb here:
My service domain is wobbooksite.com
When A customer signs up hsphere tells them to use ns3.wobbooksite.com & ns4.wobbooksite.com as the nameservers.
But they can’t use those directly where their domain is registered. They have to set up child nameservers on their registor.
Is this normal? I don’t remember that being the case before.
They do not have to do this if they use ns3.jodoshared.com & ns4.jodoshared.com .

No, only you have to set up the nameservers at your registrar

Correct..
As a reseller you must update nameserver and child nmaeservers for the reseller/corporate domain at your domain registrar.
For example(GoDaddy) see: http://jodohost.com/nsflash/dnsns_godaddy.htm
your child nameservers may just not be propogated yet or set up correctly…
might get that error if the registrar can’t ping your nameservers…

OK… I’ve gotten conflecting answers.
I don’t remember this issue when we were using ns1 or ns2
your child nameservers may just not be propogated yet
Its been more then a week when I enabled them in my reseller account
or set up correctly
This is more likely.
As I’m typing this I realize that I may need to setup child nameservers for NS3 & NS4 for the wobbooksite domain?

Hi Andy
Step one is to check that your hostname records are updated. My hosting domain name is spheregarden.net , so my host name records have the following lines in them;
ns1.spheregarden.net 204.14.107.21
ns2.spheregarden.net 204.14.107.71
ns3.spheregarden.net 204.14.107.150
ns4.spheregarden.net 204.14.107.200
These need to be set up with your registrant
Then you will need to give the correct ns name, whichever is stated in CP for that doomain, to the domain name you want to point at your webspace.
This is assuming you’ve added the new name servers to your hsphere account already, if you haven’t as live chat to walk you through it.
Hope this has helped and I’m, not barking.
