What caused the network outage??

Hrm, I just woke up a bit about(sleeping late), but I am not having any issue network wide. I am checking on web5 status now.
everything seems ok now, bar mail 5 thats mentioned
web5 is slow, but up now. Unix techs are looking into it. Everything else including mail5 is up now.
Looking at the offsite monitors it doesn’t seem to be network related, but a number of unix servers had an issue in the same time frame. I am going to see if I can find what is going on.
We had a 200mb/sec incoming connection of some sort that caused some problems on a few subnets. I am checking to see where this happened in order to prevent it, and block it if required.
Just as a note, the network was not totally down, our typical transfer for this time of day is between 80-100mb outgoing, when this was 200mb/second attack incoming that slowed to 20-40mb outgoing and some connections may have dropped. I am still trying to find the reason for this and working on that now.
Tanmaya has investigated and worked to resolve the issue that caused this network problem. It was on Web7 the FTP port was being DOSed heavily.
We lost network again for about 2min. I checked jodo,my sites etc. all were down.
The network has not been the same since the maintaince Saturday. Even my heading in the H-sphere panels takes for ever to load the image.
You sure that wasn’t your ISP? Not showing any outage elsewhere.
Also the network is exactly the same now, there is nothing different than before. It just took time to get it back that way.
hmmmmmmm, i don’t know what happen, I checked about 5 different sites reference to jodo all down, but when I checked other sites off this network, no problems… It was a quick outage..
The thing is at that hour I had a remote ssh session to the network, and a remote desktop. the remote desktop will auto reconnect in such cases, but SSH will drop with an “unexpected network error”, that did not happen on my end.
