After the Win7 shutdown issue I thought I’d post this little registry tweak.
It removes the Shut Down option from the Start menu without actually disallowing someone to shut down the computer.
I use it myself for some servers I have access to at our data center ![]()
Of course, you’re still pretty much screwed if you accidentally click ‘Disable’ on the main network interface rather than ‘Properties’, at least if you are using Remote Desktop or the like. One of them fancy networkable KVMs wouldn’t be bothered much ![]()
