Saddam was given 12 years of diplomacy wbile North Korea only a couple of months. The plan is probably to explore all options before taking a war stance.
North Korea may just be pushing its luck too far. If diplomacy fails, their dictator too will face the same faith saddam did.

But who poses a bigger threat, Saddam or NK?
things are so groovy in nk that folks are fleeing to red china for refuge. what they should do, if they can get the auto and shoe factories guaranteed, is to give sk to nk in exchange for their nukes… seems that’s what the rioting sk students want.
