JH… not trying to be a pain here, but we need to get this permissions or securtiy issue straightened out. Please someone follow up on this ticket: FUV-14624-827
And please let me know what these security changes were that caused the original problems and what was done to correct part of his issues. And then once the last issue is resolved let me know what you did as well. I have to give intelligent answers to my client when they ask me what was wrong.
Thank you.
you have been replied a number of times, the answer is very complex, it is norrowing down some 4000+ mod security rules, thats all it is, simple but complex.
Stephen, I am 95% of the time very pleased with JH… however
No disrespect, but Deepak or Neeraj can reply 20 times, but if a problem still exists then it still exists and needs resolving. For the record there are 4 replies… 2 of which is the standard “try it now”.
There were multiple problems that appear to have been caused by JH alterations that I did not receive a notification of taking place.
I applaud them for resolving the first one, but when I follow up to say there is still one issue left and I don’t get any further responses it becomes frustrating as my client is ultimately having a problem that must be dealt with. The problem appears to be due to security changes by JH which we have no clue took place.
Nonetheless the problem still remains and I have not received any further assistance to resolve the issue at hand. It’s been almost 3 hours without further contact other than your reply here which doesn’t address the issue.
Thank you.
Please kindly have someone follow up on my ticket.
Thank You.
Deepak just did not reply you, he worked on it for some time, and the posts are all showing properly for me, I am not seeing the issue you are saying, nor is the staff at this time.
I really thought he’d replied to you after working on it, I will speak to him next time he is on shift.
at the moment I have been working this network maintenance. I will look further in a few minutes.
I know he worked on it… since he resolved the first problem. I believe I credited that in my last post. It is the second problem that is the one that isn’t resolved or replied to. It seems to be a permissions issue with themes.php as shown in the ticket and in this post. I will include WP login information so they can go in and to the exact steps to get to the error.
I see that Ranjan has replied you. Can you please confirm about any more issues here?
I just updated the ticket. Thank you for the work and reply. The last security issue has been resolved.
Is it possible to get a little detail on why we were seeing this problem and why others experienced the security problems they have.
I know some security changes were made, but can shed a little more light on what you had to do to allow things to start working? Did you have to completely remove the security hence reversing what you put in place the first time or was it more of a fine tuning?
Thank you.
FYI: I created a new ticket as the exact same error is showing up again, but when the user uses a different WP admin function.
I guess I don’t understand why we continue to run into these. My concern is every new WP blog will undergo the same problems and I’ll have to go through this each and every time.
JH… will that be the case… every new WP blog site will have issues until I contact support? or are you guys just fine tuning these security mods???
Thanks
its fine tuning, not something that will happen on each one. Sometimes a minor variation in the wp command could trigger the security again.
Stephen,
Can you expand further on exactly what it is that JH is doing with the security… specifics? To help us understand what is taking place and help us explain to customers when something goes wrong like it has lately.
Greg
It is not my area, this is linux, I do windows, but this is what it is:
