PLESK not recognizing core component?

So, PLESK has decided to stop recognizing my mail server – when I try to login it now insists that smartermail is not installed and that I pick mailenable (the only option it seems to think it has). I’ve reinstalled smartermail, I’ve run the plesk reconfigurator – no change.

Any thoughts on how to convince or force PLESK to recognize and accept an installed component?

Okay, since no-one else had any brilliant insights… :stuck_out_tongue:

The solution turned out to involve running the defpackagemng.exe utility in swsoft\plesk\admin\bin with --fix. Whatever was broken in the bowels of PLESK were fixed and it now recognizes the mail server again.
