Preventing fraudulent Customers

Following are few tips which may help you to stop fraudulent customers:

  1. Do not allow instant activation. We had this but got a lot of fraudulent signups.

  2. Best protection is to call new customer over the phone before activating a new signup.

  3. Very careful on VPS account customers. They will get an IP which may be misused immediately. Many

  4. Be very careful about trial signups, as they can use instant access domain alias for mass mailing.

  5. Our Fraud Dept has identified some email IDs as fraudulent. These are [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected].

well you need sign up on, so that you can “sign up” to the service plan, for your own account..

am guessing atul means some people didnt turn it off, meaning anyone can sign up for a nonbilling service plan

(you can get to any account by the Control Panel, click on Compare Plans)

Along these lines, anyone here an Authorize.net customer and use their enhanced fraud detection suite? Has it netted anyone a bad guy?

We use the maxmind services ourselves, it is quite good but not perfect!
