Question about Google

I’m having a little problem with my google listings. Only the directories of my site, www.mendhak.com will appear, but no pages.

If you’ll bear with me here, go through this example:

For example, do a search for parascience, and you’ll only get a result to

http://www.mendhak.com/paranormal/parascience

(the directory, that is)

Now if you take a look at that page, you’ll see an article named “Time Travel Machines”. But there is no search on google that can turn up the exact link

Go ahead and click this search

But you’ll just get a link to the directory instead of this actual article:

http://www.mendhak.com/paranormal/parascience/show.php?id=36

Google doesn’t have the listing for it. :frowning:

Am I doing something wrong here? I have provided links on all pages as relative paths. Does that make a difference? How come only the directories got indexed, but none of the PHP pages?

I’d appreciate any clues, hints, pointers, cigarettes, joints and suggestions regarding this.

You may want to think about adding meta tag details to the first page that opens for the site the page with the cute frog pictures. As there is no text on that page that is usually the one the googlebot gets its data from. see

Also Google and Yahoo allow you to post a description about what your site is about to add to their directory. This doesn’t cost you anything!

I am no expert, but I was under the impression that Google does not spider the variable part. For example, when it finds the following link:

http://www.mendhak.com/paranormal/p.../show.php?id=36

it only spiders:

http://www.mendhak.com/paranormal/p.../show.php

Don’t use ‘ID’ as a variable. In WebMasterWorld many there think that Google thinks ID is a session variable and will not spider it.

You do have about 55 pages indexed including some with a parameter. (your guestbook entries)
