this is unheard of, a large registrar going down 100%, all their whois systems, their backend that provide DNS links, etc, all of it is down.
their website is starting to slowly come back but domains registered with them still timing out right now due to not being able to do nameserver dns lookups to find which dns server to query!
Failing sites are having no dns returns like this:
* dns119.b.register.com returned (SERVFAIL)
* dns193.a.register.com returned (SERVFAIL)
* dns223.c.register.com returned (SERVFAIL)
* dns249.d.register.com returned (SERVFAIL)
(this happens if you dig, won’t be stated on the site down message)
