As an old time user of Jodohost, I received an email today stating I’m on an old plan, and mentions new resources after Sept '08 as follows:
"In comparison to the plan you are using and plans offered after Sept 08 till April 2011 :
We are offering less number of dedicated ips free.
Additional Dedicated ip prices has been increased up to $2.50 per month per dedicated ip for reseller’s.
Each sub-ftp (Windows ) will be charged @ $.50 per month per FTP
Resellers will be able to resell only Windows and Linux Hosting, not VPS.
We have removed Catch All and Auto responder features form Email feature list.
You have Shared SSL support for only EMAILS
One click Installer (Easy App) is available for only Linux Hosting, not for windows.
Only our old plan users have privilege to add as many as additional users, our new plan users have cap on even adding additional end users.
You can continue using your old Linux VPS resources, which you have already created under your account. We have stopped Linux VPS for new plan users "
Although it doesn’t affect me greatly as I don’t use many of these features (auto responder is useful from time to time when I’m holidays though), I can’t see any benefits in moving to the new plan - am I missing something here, or will old users eventually be forced onto the newer plans?
“We are not forcing you to change your hosting package. This email is an information update on our Hosting packages, you may opt and write us back if you want to change your hosting package, at any point of time.”
There are a few people that do not like (as they are over) account limits on number of sub accounts
This is a big issue now, so we have no choice but to limit this, as the licenses are very costly (especially so since Parallels and no substantial discounts for large users, they cost yearly)
I was just going through the email about the differences and I want to make sure I am reading this correct:

Am I correct in this… The only downside is if:
You use a lot of dedicated IPs
You use a lot of sub-ftp accounts.
You had VPS’s
You relied a lot on Catch All and Auto Responder.
Also confused by this:
Old plan users are not REQUIRE to pay new increased additional resources charges.; but they will not receive increased resources till they chose to upgrade
We do not move anything at all, just the plan changes, the migration is moving things, but 2003 is staying 2003, and if you want 2008, it is on both clusters, just request to move to it.
I didn’t change my Value reseller plan, but I’m being told any new sub-ftp accounts on even Linux plans are now chargeable.
And surely this is all wrong, in any case. How does a sub-ftp account cost a new licence? It’s just a login, and doesn’t give any privileges apart from restricting which directory the user can see. Surely it’s the hsphere Control Panel sub-accounts that cost money, not the simple FTP login which doesn’t create a new CP user. The two things are separate in the CP, and I think there must be some confusion.
Having separate ftp logins for clients and contractors is pretty well essential for safe development work. Having to pay for them (not just once, but every month!) makes Jodohost uneconomic to use. No other hsphere host charges extra for them, as far as I can tell.
