Significant Downtime

Hi All,

I was wondering if I was the only one to experience lots of downtime lately. My site was down for over an hour and half today, and was down for the same amount of time about two weeks ago. It also goes down for 5-15 min. a time sometimes.

I opened a ticket asking for an explanation for the first occurrence but I haven’t received any response to that particular question. That was two weeks ago…

According to the live chat operator, the reason for the most recent downtime was because the server was being abused by a domain. What does this mean? Was someone hogging resources or was the server being attacked?

I really need this to stop happening. I am on win20.

there was no serverwide downtime anytime recently on win20. I am unsure the domain but it is possible that the pool had one domain in it using an access DB with many open connections causing problems, or other items like this. We work hard to give notice to people using large Access DBs, that they cause major problems for other clients and should not be used on sites with any significant traffic. out of 10 cases of abuse, 8 of them will be Access, the other 2 will be vulnerable scripts, etc.

That being said we have been fighting off attacks in a heavy amount since last Saturday, but win20 has not been at the center of that to my knowledge. I will take a look at win20 and see if any attacks are happening there, but its pretty noticeable to us when they do as I start getting alerts to my phone at all hours, win20 has shown no traffic symptoms of being having DoS-like attacks.

(win10, win11, web2 and web6 all have, just for a point of reference)

I have a client complaining about slow loading problems on win11. Is this happening right now? I have been getting alerts on win10 and win11 from my software when it can’t contact it a number of times in the last week.

This could be unrelated, but this site http://gamingandtech.com/ can’t get any of its videos to load up. (I think they reference back to youtube).
