Does anyone have any feedback on the Simple Machines Forum?

It looks pretty awesome, but not sure about security with it.

I have heard about security issues with phpbb that is a concern even so they say phpbb2 is safer. The forum you guys use is also good, I might just pay for vbulletin not sure yet.

SMF is a nice forum, but the developer need a life adjustment (take out to the back and beaten). On the front he plays nice but he’s quite a … jerk .. to put it nicely.

There are major theme bugs in 1.0.5 version that the developer refuse to fix. Including the newest 1.1.x version. So I wouldnt recommend it to anybody due to lack of … real developer.

vbulletin is very over priced for what it does, and the phpbb import usually never work, plus the devs refuse to fix the import, so go figure :slight_smile:

I havent found a decent forum software yet …

definately, webwizguide is probably the most efficient forum software written. The actual webwizguide.info website that we host uses less than 5% of the CPU and the server hardly ever needs a reboot
