SMTP and PHP

I’m trying to figure out how I can send mail via PHP using my SMTP server. I have a mail.MyDomain.com setup (it was by default) but attempting to use that as an SMTP server does not work.

Are there any special settings that need to be changed for this?

phpmailer with SMTP Auth will be the key.
