Do you want to see what i have gotten last night and during the night, and this is a short list of what I have gotten during this time frame as most were deleted. I am getting them about every 2-3 minutes now. I don’t care what it takes, either move me to another mail server or slow it down.

Maybe the answer is get rid of Spam assisian, because I can tell you this, I have all my E-mails forwared to my cell phone with my cell phone E-mail, and not one I mean not one Spam E-Mail is received from there system whatever they used blocks them perfect. So when I hear nothing can be done, I don’t get it.

You see the same words used over and over and over, set spam assaisan to block it, this is absouluty ridicious. VmlAGRA been used over and over for over a month, how come its not blocked, I am sure I am not the only one getting this E-Mail.

This is untotalble and my cleints are complaining. I don’t get how words can’t be blocked, espcially E-mails that been coming in for over a month using the same words. BLOCK THEM!

I just got a request from a customer on mail4 to delete his E-mails for one of his addresses. Thier were 949 all spam from 10-9 thru 10-16.

When I see what SpamAssassin lets through on my home mailserver, I get the idea it’s not working very well… until I see what it actually sends straight to /dev/null… It does depend a lot on the exact configuration

SpamAssassin with RBL and RulesDuJour does pretty well.. with Bayesian filters it would improve, but that’s rather hard to set up for this environment as it involves a learning process, training with both ham and spam..

I’d expect RulesDuJour to prevent and URI RBL checks to block those messages you’re getting. On a daily basis my SA setup outright deletes about 100 mails, puts maybe 20 in a “probably spam” box and maybe 2 or 3 get through unharmed. And that’s with sensitivity settings that result in next to no false positives.

When he is away, things with spam and mail servers downgrade, he seems to keep them tweaked and communicate with the forum to try to fix. I could be wrong but this is when their is problems with Linux/mail servers when he is gone.

There is really nothing wrong with the spam filtering and the mail servers, its the amount of spam we are being hit by and the changing tactics of spammers

As I mentioned in the other thread, your hosts open source spam filters are sometimes not the best bet if your email address is public and the target of alot of spam

That said, believe me when I say we are not sitting on this issue and have been working on it.
We are looking to improve both spamassasin and introduce a commercial filtering system that we are going to try to make available at no cost.

Ok. Yash it’s just very frustrating and we deal with our clients and they are upset and they think we are not doing what we can. The spam is just awful, and I know it’s not you fault but something we have to do, its just frustrating.

Why can’t certain words be blocked for now, the same words are used over and over as menthend above.

mail3 also hosts some “big” Pharma companies and I cant use all rulesets there. Yesterday alone mail3 rejected 96780 spam mails apart from 163933 RBL rejections that doesnt includes mails marked as spam or virus mails. And with approx 350000 inbound messages(mail3) a day you just cant keep adding rules.

I’ll fix a bug with Hsphere as the rules doesnt seems to be updating correctly. Can you also tell me your customer’s antispam preferences in control panel. He shouldnt receive this many if set to very agressive.

I looked at my clients Mailbox INFO that is compaining on mail5, and they have no Anti-Spam settings set. I will ask them to enable it. Why is mail5 getting hit so hard??

The spam listings in the thread above, is from me on web3, I have my settings set to very aggresive and I am still getting slammed.

I just went through some of my clients carbon mailbox I have as backups. Their are domains getting over 200 or more with spam, same ones over and over and over. One client had over 949 in 3 days,not counting what was in the spam folder.

I don’t know what my cell company uses, but I tell you my E-mail with them, all the spam I get and then goes to my forwarded Yahoo account, they never get through my cell phone E-mail, none only the legite ones. I am going to find out what they use and let you know, this has got to stop.

Spam/spammers doesnt looks at mailserver. It just sends to mailboxes it have in its list/DB. The amount of spam you receive direcly relates to the amount of spammer lists where your domain exist and not the receipient server.
