Splitting domain & sub domain over two servers

Is it possible to have a main domain on a Windows server (eg, www.domain.com ) and a sub domain on a Unix server (eg, other.domain.com) under the same reseller package, assuming they’re both using the same nameservers (ns3 & ns4)?

As Windows appears to be pretty poor at running PHP/MySQL, I’m attempting to migrate some stuff over, but for consistency it would be useful if a subdomain could point at the Unix server.

No, not the service domain, just one of the regular domains in the Windows package.
