Hello,

Here is the problem: My client have a sql 2005 database on a development server that needs to be deployed to jodohost’s sql2005 server. I created a script using Database Publishing Wizard from Microsoft but when I tryed to execute the script on jodo’s sql2005 server it gives many errors. So I took a .bak file from development server and asked jodo support to restore the database. They restored the database but my client can’t login with his login and pass. We are waiting 2 days for this problem to be solved. Please tell me why such a simple tasks are so difficult here? I tryed the above procedure at 2 different hosting companies and it took me 10 minutes to move the database. Why don’t jodo allow us to do the things ourselfes? Why the database publishing wizard is not working here? /the other hosting companies are using this tool - myLittleBackup for SQL Server, web-based MS SQL administration tool to give their client the ability to backup and restore sql 2000/2005 /

Are all objects owned by DBO?

it is the most common cause for logins not working.

As for the tools, I am working on making some work on the SQL 2005 side, with hsphere as well, but hsphere is pretty picky and won’t even give users DBO, which I hate and have been fighting to get for years now. The tools won’t be that one you have linked, but should have some similar options.

Without DBO users ability to do any import is severly limited.

SQl 2005 is setup manually and you have DBO, but if restored objects aren’t linked to the same server, then it gives errors such as you have mentioned.

I don’t have a ticket ID so not sure I can assist now. I am here in DC setting up a batch of servers. Pratik will be in shortly and can assist you as well.

What do you think - is it a good idea to send the .sql file generated by Database Publishing Wizard to Pratik to execute on the server?

I think this is the case.

Sure you can send the .sql file as outputted, so long as the US DBNAME is correct for the database :slight_smile:

Yes Hsphere has some quirks, but not much else in dual platform market that is any good either.

just FYI, not sure if he said, but it was that the user was not linked due to server change in the BAK file.

Yes, he said that but what does this mean, how to avoid this in the future? The both servers had the same login name and password and the same database name.

Actually they have a unique ID key as well, and since they were exact(except for the key) it clashed :slight_smile: He recreated it.

Am I to understand from this post that Jodo supports SQL2005 now?

If I had a client who wanted 2005 would he send in a support ticket like he would for asp.net 2.0? Does he still have access to it via the control panel?

Sorry, but this is all news to me. I’m a relatively new reseller.

it does nto work via the control panel, or count against any control panel quota in any way. it is totally seperate service. It would need to be from you via ticket for his request.
