I’m new to VPS (just 1 day old) so I don’t know how to add SSL support for subdomains. I can add it for domains but this option isn’t available for subdomains. Is there another way of accomplishing this through Plesk?
I’m on a VPS also and I purchased my SSL through MyPlesk.com which you can get to via the Plesk Control Panel. From what I remember you just type in the domain you want the SSL to be valid for, pay , and submit. You will be given all the files needed to install the SSL for the domain once the domain is verified.
It turns out that I can’t add SSL support for a subdomain on a Windows VPS using Plesk. To add SSL, you have to do it manually in IIS and I was able to get it set up and running within few minutes.
I find that manually modifying the IIS to my liking is so much easier than going through plesk (may be its just my taste) so I’m currently running on a stripped down VPS (no plesk, most of the services turned off, tuned app pool, etc.) and I’m using less than 100mb of RAM compared to having plesk do all this for me and use over 220mb.
