Strange email issues

Hello All,

Some of my clients are reporting that they are sending emails that are not being received and others are sending them emails that they are not receiving. All with no bounce or error message.

I would generally conclude that these are due to user errors or poorly configured in-house servers at businesses that my clients are sending to, but then I got a strange email myself that looks like it was intended for some one else entirely. None of my clients or my email addresses are listed as recipients!

How could I receive an email that was not addressed to an email that I am set up to receive? Neither domains are owned by my clients but one does appear to be hosted at Jodo. Below are the headers for review with addresses and names replaced with xxxxxx. Am I missing something in these headers?

How did I get this email? Could this be why my clients are missing emails? Has anyone else had any similar issues or clients complaining of lost emails?

Thanks for any insight or help!

Well, as far as the email without your address, you could have been blind-copied… Is that possible given the email sender / subject?

Otherwise, what email server(s) are you and your clients on? I have not heard of problems, I think I have clients on mail3/4/5/6 (I don’t typically track what mail servers clients are on so I am not positive on those).

Tim

Thanks for the reply Tim. Cool Yak’in photo as well. I don’t believe I was BCC’ed and the sender and subject are completely unknown to me. None of the address or recipients appear to be related to any client of mine either. Also, doesn’t a BCC header at least include the address you received it at as the receiver? I think it does?

The other thing is that it could have only been sent to one of 3-4 domains because I received it in my spam email account, which collects emails for 3-4 domains. None of these domains or owners have anything do to with the message recipients or senders.

I believe all the possible domains are on Mail6, so this would be the one with the issue. Still not sure how I got this email. Maybe I should submit a ticket?

yes submit a ticket, for privacy of the domains I am moving it to customer only.
