subdomain or alias???

when I signed up… my package set up mydomain.com but I also want www.mydomain.com to point to the same place.

Well, when I added www as a subdomain, it created a new directory structure. I don’t want a separate website, just one.

Should I be using an alias or subdomain? or doing something else?

The alias www.mydomain.com is created on default when you add mydomain.com to the server. there is no need to create a sub domain.

oops…

but should this show up in Hsphere because it doesn’t?

Now that I have added www.mydomain.com, will it delete the existing www.mydomain.com?

Oh…and www doesn’t show up as alias either..fyi

www.mydomain.com shows up as a server alias, not domain alias. You can see that page by editing the web settings for a given domain.

Delete the sub domain www.mydomain.com. The folder won’t get deleted off the server though (issue with Hsphere) so just ignore it.

OK found it. Thanks

I assume then a domain alias is when you want to point a DIFFERENT domain to my.domain.com

Is it safe to delete the folders that a subdomain creates (provided I deleted the subdomain)?

You can try deleting it but it would eventually give you an error because you’d be removing system files. This is an issue with Hspherw which should hopefullly be fixed in the next version
