Is it possible to set up a subversion server in a shared hosting account like my reseller account? I doubt it but thought I’d ask.
I could set up a local server to do it. But, then either it’s accessible on only the local network or I have to worry about opening a port and managing security. And, I have to worry about backups, security, etc.
I have the built in / included VPS account as part of my reseller plan but I’ve never used it and don’t really have a clue on setting it up. It would eliminate the port security concerns, but none of the others. I guess I’d rather not go that option.
I suppose there are commercial svn hosting companies that I can investigate. I want to create repositories for all my client projects. The plans I’ve seen can add up pretty quickly.
Since JodoHost caters to coders and programmers with at least their reseller plans, maybe this is a new business opportunity for you?
Mostly just rambling here, but I look forward to your thoughts.
Thanks,
Tim
