Yes… you want to use their sandbox system. It is a little confusing at first, but it does work.

You can also setup a product for $.01 as a test. You actually would pay..but hopefully that wouldn’t break the bank! 
As an FYI:… there is a good product at http://www.amember.com that another developer pointed me to. It may be helpful to those who don’t want to right a full custom system of their own.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I think I wasn’t entirely clear. I wanted to test the signup process of users signing up for my hosting through the jodohost/hspehere setup. Would I be able to point that to the sandbox? (my instinct tells me no)
