triggers in the database to encrypt data

Can we create triggers in our Mysql database to encrypt data before insert and update operations ?

I know technically the answer is yes starting with MySql V5.x.

I am asking is this feature turned on in our Jodohost MySql DB Servers?

Apart from those dependent on SSL support, the rest should work.

and instructions for various settings.

Not MySql Manual… I have read those pages without receiving understanding for actually doing the job.

We have not used this feature in our solutions. So we can not help you much here.
We are checking for instructions for settings but we can not promise. If we can help in any way we will be more than glad to.
