Trying to shift myself to new servers

Hi,

I am curious as to when the owner I work with switches their account, or is activated, if that will affect the site at all? When I say that, I am refering to the fact that my access database uses the old username of ihopeyou-databasename that I created in the control panel, and since there is a new username for the new cluster, I didn’t know if that would throw stuff off when it goes active? I know I will have to go through and change the database name on all the files, but I didn’t know when I would have to make that change.

Firstly, you’ll have to ask us to create the CFMX DSN again on the new cluster. Just open a ticket and we’ll keep the original name that is in your code

So in a sense, I will have to versions of the site until one gets deleted? Or one takes prescidents over the other?

No, your old site will remain active till you point its domain to the new name servers.
