Upcoming Project: Private-Labeled Dedicated Servers

We are working out a contract with a large dallas-based datacenter. We plan to setup dedicated servers for selling at that location..

HSphere 2.5 will support the ability to sell your own branded Dedicated Servers, and we plan to make use of that feature.. IT will go stable around July, and we plan to deploy the servers at that location around July end.

These dedicated servers will be priced at reasonable and affordable levels. We are hopeful that the pricing level would allow you to easily compete with some of the big names. Your ideas on this project are welcome

Sounds great Yash.
Top priority though is reliability, not like the clowns we were dealing with last time (NS) - caused me great loss.. and greif!

PS: no offense meant to S.E. who helped me A LOT along the way!

Yes, that project didn’t go to well.
We were in a partnership that time, this will be 100% our product and we plan to back it up with good support and good hardware

That is reassuring. Looking forward!

Oh Great.. Can’t Wait.. I want to get into Reselling so this will be awesome. I would like to stay with JodoHost for all my services.

What sort of ballpark pricing and features are we looking at?

You guys are going to need some serious organization for that! It does look interesting though.

And what makes you think they are not organized. What I have seen from them since last August they are very organized and on top of things. If something goes wrong they are honest about it and keep us informed. Every host has problems, its how its handled with honesty and organization that counts.

Jodo is my 4th Reseller and I wish I would of found them from the beginning. I no longer have to worry about uptime or support issues as I did in the past, or the stress of, Will I have to move to another company next week.

I’ll give you more details on that closer to implementation..
Since we are still negotiating finer details, a correct figure would be difficult..

I agree, and i’ve seen it since October 2003

Never said they were not organized… Please read carefully next time.

We learned a LOT with the first venture into dedicated servers, and that was primarily that we needed to be in control if things were to get done.

can’t wait for this.

any clue what DC it is?

NAP seems such a good home

NAP is simply not economical to us for selling servers at low monthly rentals…

We have however set our eyes on collo4dallas, which has a pretty good datacenter in Dallas. We probably will take a cage with them and setup a couple of racks, have an efficient setup to push these servers out at competitive prices.

So let me get this straight, this plan will allow us to:

A) Sell dedicated servers to our customers for their sites (one site per server)

B) Get a dedicated server for ourselves to host multiple client sites

or both?

Will these systems be manageable from our reseller control panels with customer-level CPs below that?

Tim

Tim,

There are a few options, we are looking at making for clients that want it, a per user hpshere fee(just the lic fee per user on the server) and otherwise fully integrated to our server. This would mean your end user uses the same thing as always, and also means that we coudl very easily move the site over to a server that is dedicated to you/your customer only.

We will also be working to support at least one third party control panel so that you don’t have to have your server as part of our hsphere cluster and you can have something more “fully” your own. As for the A/B part, both.
