We plan to upgrade our “Unix” systems to HSphere 2.4.3 Patch5 starting at 12:30AM EDT, Tuesday Oct 25. This is just a bugfix and security update. There is “no” winbox update.
No service will be affected for more than 10 minutes. Only control panel “may be” stopped for 3-4 hours since this update modifies the Hsphere schema to accomodate some changes.
What do you mean by “may be”? It’s not sure that the CP goes down?
We cannot predict the amount of time the schema update on the hsphere update will take. Hence tanmaya has specified a 3-4 hour outage of the Control Panel during the specified time. No other services will be affected
Do all CP’s (ie. reseller and customer) run off the same server, or are they different? That is, do these updates affect resellers and customers at the same time?

Yes, they use the same CP server, thus both will be affected at same time.
Upgrade is delayed as the routine backups havent finished yet.
Control panel has been stopped for upgrade now.
